ABOUT GUIDE
– Guides history with musky fishing

My foray into fishing was in 1983 — just barely old enough to hold a fishing pole. Fishing walleyes on Kentuck Lake in Vilas is where it all began. My father taught me the two most important ingredients for cooking up a great fishing experience are patience and time on the water. He was right.

In 1992 my father started to include me in on numerous musky hunts. Believe it or not my first musky was caught on my 3rd cast ever! We were on North Twin Lake also in Vilas County. Call it an instant obsession! From that point on the phrase, “Muskies: all other fish are just bait,” rang loud and true. It has been my passion and enjoyment for the last 16 years.

In addition to boating alot of nice muskies on the Bay of Green Bay and Shawano Lake, my fishing partner and I fished in the 2007 Butternut Lake Musky Tournament in Price County. We placed on the Money List — finishing in the top ten for this 2-day tournament.  It was a great accomplishment for our first run in the tournament.

It's hard to beat the feeling of boating a big musky. But it takes alot of know-how to outsmart those toothy critters. Knowledge of lure selection, boat control and presentation can be the difference between pulling out the camera to capture your catch or packing it in to head for home. Making sure all my clients are educated in how to catch big muskies is the most important achievement I can make on guided trips. I hope to create legacies for my clients’ one trip at a time. That's the reason we are one of the most successful muskie fishing guides near Green Bay, WI.
